A Palo Alto specialist appointment, a Willow Glen associate role and a Gilroy medical director search need different briefs. Start with the hospital address, clinical resources and schedule, then agree the search with BEGHR.
Specify the procedures the doctor performs alone, appointment capacity and doctor overlap. For a new graduate, name the mentor and set first-year review dates in writing.
Plan an associate search →Define the discipline, credentials, shift pattern and resources already in the building. Explain referral communication, overnight staffing and the morning handover.
Scope a specialist role →List the hospitals and decision authority, including who hires associates. Separate clinical workload from protected time for coaching, clinical standards and site visits.
Define a medical director role →Use the actual work address, required arrival times and any additional facilities. Do not present a Gilroy or Palo Alto vacancy as interchangeable with a San Jose hospital, and do not describe Sunnyvale or Los Gatos as a San Jose neighborhood. A rotating role should state whether movement happens between working days or during a clinical shift.
Choose the clinical and operational interviewers, confirm the employer-approved package and identify who can authorize an offer. Use the same role-related criteria for every candidate and give one person responsibility for feedback. Review the hiring brief and candidate scorecard before outreach.
This is permanent placement for employers. Your practice hires the selected candidate directly. An immediate relief shift needs a separate arrangement; this service does not promise a locum available today. Job seekers can start with BEGHR’s veterinary placement page; the pricing form here is for employer inquiries.
Use the DCA License Search for the California Veterinary Medical Board for the relevant professional record. The Board’s license page describes the search, and each record shows whether a license is current, expired or subject to disciplinary action. Assign a person to verify status, record the date and resolve questions with the Board. Check any additional specialty credentials required by the employer with the issuing organization.
For a candidate moving from another state, review the California Veterinary Medical Board’s veterinarian applicant information. Applicants who did not graduate from UC Davis or Western University of Health Sciences must also complete the California Veterinary Law Examination, an open-book test on the California Veterinary Medicine Practice Act. Do not treat an out-of-state license or a preferred start date as confirmation that California requirements are satisfied. The Board determines eligibility and timing; BEGHR does not issue licenses.
If the role depends on technician delegation, confirm registered veterinary technician status through the same search. For related references, see the Board’s RVT registration requirements and the Board’s continuing education regulations and the Santa Clara Valley Veterinary Medical Association and the O*NET California wage table for veterinarians, which reports BLS 2025 wage data.

Veterinary recruitment coverage
A San Jose veterinary search works best when the hospital address comes before the metro label. San Jose neighborhoods such as Willow Glen or Berryessa, incorporated cities such as Sunnyvale or Palo Alto, and unincorporated places such as Stanford or San Martin are different workplaces. Business Executive Group uses the employer’s role, schedule and location to scope a permanent search.
Santa Clara County has 15 incorporated cities, and San Jose is only one of them. Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Palo Alto, Los Gatos and the others are cities in their own right, so keep each opening tied to its municipality. Fremont and Newark are in Alameda County, and East Palo Alto and Menlo Park are in San Mateo County, so they are outside this site’s coverage. Identify any rotation between San Jose, the northern cities, the West Valley or South County, and let candidates judge their own travel against actual shift times.
Downtown San Jose, Willow Glen, West San Jose and Cambrian are parts of the City of San Jose, not separate cities. The City’s General Plan uses the planning-area names Central/Downtown, Willow Glen, West Valley and Cambrian/Pioneer. Give each opening its street address and list any second site on its own line.
Almaden Valley, Evergreen and Berryessa are City of San Jose planning areas, named Almaden, Evergreen and Berryessa in the General Plan. Evergreen and Berryessa each have an adopted City plan of their own. Give the hospital address, and list any Morgan Hill or Milpitas site separately because both are separate cities.
Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Mountain View and Palo Alto are five of the 15 incorporated cities in Santa Clara County. Santa Clara is also the name of the county, so say which one the posting means. Keep a site in one of these cities distinct from any San Jose neighborhood in the same group.
Cupertino, Campbell, Saratoga, Los Gatos and Los Altos are separate incorporated cities or towns. Monte Sereno and Los Altos Hills are also separate municipalities and are covered by the Los Gatos and Los Altos pages. Use the municipality that matches the hospital address.
Morgan Hill and Gilroy are separate incorporated cities, and San Martin is a Census-designated place, not a city. Give the hospital address, the species mix and any ambulatory work for each opening. Do not describe a South County vacancy as a San Jose neighborhood role.
This San Jose employer inquiry site is operated by Business Executive Group. BEGHR manages your client relationship and billing while the recruiting delivery team handles sourcing, screening and candidate delivery. Your signed client engagement confirms the search scope and terms.
